It is a feeling as well as a description. I am a Marine, so naturally I have an affinity for firearms. I remember while holding my glock on the firing line at the local range the texture of it. The weight. The fact that there is so much more than plastic and metal. There is a culture behind firearms and the freedom and history that they bring.
